NJ Transit rail passengers heading into or out of Penn Station New York were facing delays of up to an hour Monday morning. Following an earlier suspension, Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast Line rail service have resumed with limited service.

Amtrak said Monday afternoon it was only seeing "minimal delays" along the Northeast Corridor after overhead wire damage halted service between New York City and Philadelphia earlier in the day. But NJ Transit, which also uses the Northeast Corridor rails, was still warning most of its lines were subject to cancellations and delays.

Amtrak train service coming into and out of New York Penn Station has been restored following lengthy delays and cancellations earlier Monday.

Amtrak says train service between Philadelphia and New York City has been fully restored, but riders may still experience delays.

CBS News New York's Nick Caloway spoke to travelers at Newark Penn Station trying to get home following the Thanksgiving holiday.

Amtrak said limited service was restored around 10:30 a.m., but service disruptions remain — with residual delays of up to 60 minutes from Newark into Penn Station expected. Earlier, New Jersey Transit said the disruptions were all related to overhead wire damage near Newark-Penn Station.
