Rupert Grint must pay £1.8 million (about $2.3 million) to the U.K.'s tax agency after incorrectly classifying his 'Harry Potter' residuals as a capital asset instead of income, a British judge ruled this week.

Former “Harry Potter” film actor Rupert Grint faces a 1.8 million-pound ($2.3 million) bill after he lost a legal battle with the tax authorities.

The U.K. government claims that Grint attempted to use the same tax loophole the Beatles tried using in the 1960s to lower their overall taxes.
