Elon Musk is an avid video game player. He weighed in on buying Hasbro after musing about opening an AI gaming studio.

Hours after Elon Musk announced he would be starting his own game studio, he teased purchasing Hasbro to secure the rights to D&D.

If Elon Musk wanted to create a classic fantasy role-playing franchise with none of the wokery that now inhabits Dungeons & Dragons, he could do it a dozen times over with his riches. But why bother when you can just buy parent company Hasbro and run the real thing in into the ground?

Elon Musk criticized Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro for diminishing Dungeons & Dragons creator Gary Gygax’s legacy. His remarks, including a tweet asking ’How much is Hasbro?’, fuel speculation that he might buy Hasbro to restore the game’s legacy.

Musk, who has been handed a role in Donald Trump’s administration after helping him win the US election, teased purchasing Hasbro after taking issue with comments from Jason Tondro, the product lead on another Hasbro property, Dungeons and Dragons. This comes just days after Musk and Donald Trump Jr had joked about the Tesla CEO purchasing MSNBC.

Elon Musk previously spoke of wanting to purchase Twitter, and after a rollercoaster ride of events it actually happened. That led to many things, including the rebranding of Twitter to X, and X is one of several companies Musk continues to own and run.
