Cold wave hit Delhiites on Thursday as the minimum temperature dropped to 4.5 degrees Celsius, the weather department said.

Cold wave conditions are likely to continue in Delhi on Thursday. The minimum temperature will hover between 4 and 6 degree Celsius, and the maximum around 23 to 24 degree Celsius.

Delhi has recorded its first cold wave of the season with temperatures dropping to 4.9°C, marking the earliest occurrence since December 1987. The India Meteorological Department issued a yellow alert,

Cold wave conditions were forecasted to continue in various regions of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh until December 16; in Saurashtra and Kutch, as well as Delhi, until December 13; and in Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad from December 13 to 16.
