Geraldo Rivera is making amends with the father of JonBenét Ramsey. After John Ramsey’s daughter was found murdered at 6 years old in the basement of her family’s Colorado home in 1996, the journalist, 81, staged a mock murder trial on television.

"I lament contributing to the hurt that you have endured," Rivera told Ramsey when the pair appeared together live for a NewsNation segment with Chris Cuomo.

One comes at the start of the second installment, during a clip from Geraldo Rivera's mock "trial" of the parents on his now-defunct talk show in 1997. The audience found Patsy Ramsey guilty, but not before a witness who's an alleged "expert" on child abuse insists that a video shows JonBenét Ramsey "masturbating" with a saxophone during a public performance a few days before the six-year-old beauty queen's murder on Christmas 1996.

I think if the right things are done, it can be solved," John Ramsey told FOX31's Jeremy Hubbard. "I really believe there’s a high probability with the technology that’s out there today that wasn’t there eight years ago when the last DNA testing was done.
