With the baseball universe still waiting for Juan Soto to reach a decision on where he will play – presumably for the next 12-15 seasons — the Mets signed Clay Holmes to a three-year contract worth $38 million, pending a physical, as first reported by The Post’s Joel Sherman.

Per Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the New York Mets have agreed to a three-year, $38 million deal with the former Yankees closer, and will use him as a starting pitcher.

Clay Holmes was moved out of the closer role with the Yankees this past summer and now, he's headed to across town as a starting pitcher in free agency.
