Patrik Laine got a hero’s welcome from the Montreal Canadiens’ faithfuls during Tuesday’s victory over the New York Islanders. The superstar made his long-awaited regular-season debut after spraining his knee in an exhibition game in September and managed to record a goal in the 2-1 victory.

Patrik Laine wasted no time making his presence felt in his highly anticipated debut with the Montreal Canadiens. Playing his first regular-season game in nearly a year, Laine scored a power-play goal and helped lift the Habs to a 2–1 overtime victory against the New York Islanders on Tuesday.
Laine activated off IR, will make Habs regular season debut Tuesday
Laine was acquired by the Canadiens in exchange for defenseman Jordan Harris on August 19. Montreal also received a second-round pick in 2026. He was selected second overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 2016 NHL Draft.
