Shiv Sena MP Srikant Shinde, the son of Maharashtra’s caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, on Monday said the speculations about him getting the deputy CM’s post in the new state government were false and baseless.

According to reports, Shinde was scheduled to attend a Mahayuti leaders meeting to finalise portfolio allocations. He is suffering from a throat infection and fever and did not return to his official residence, Varsha, in Mumbai. Shinde is currently staying in his native village in Satara.

Amid the ongoing Maharashtra CM and Cabinet suspense, Eknath Shinde's son Shrikant Shinde has dismissed the speculations about him becoming the Maha Deputy CM.

Eknath Sinde sought to remind the BJP central leadership that Assembly elections were successfully fought under his leadership although he reiterated that his party will support the decision taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
