Human trafficking up 25% globally as demand for young girls fuels growth
Among children, female victims rose 38% from 2019 to 2022. Child trafficking is increasingly seen in areas where unaccompanied children and children who have been separated from a parent are traveling alone. Child trafficking, the report found, was happening more in high-income countries, particularly among girls.
