Mumbai: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has tendered his resignation as the Chief Minister on Tuesday at around 11 am. Shinde submitted his resignation to Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan at the Raj Bhavan.

The Mahayuti is set to return to power in Maharashtra, with a thumping victory. The BJP is itself winning over 100 seats, while its allies Shiv Sena and NCP have also performed well. Now, the question on everyone’s mind is: Who will be the next chief minister?

BJP’s top leadership on Monday approved Fadnavis’s nomination and the proposal was also endorsed by alliance partners.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is expected to resign on Tuesday but will stay on as caretaker CM. Deputy CM Ajit Pawar clarified that no decision has been made on the next CM, but it will be a joint decision by the ruling alliance partners.
