As trade rumors continue to grow, Carlos Correa of the Twins will not be moved this offseason as Scott Boras shuts down talk of a trade.

Agent Scott Boras refuted any trade speculation surrounding Minnesota Twins star shortstop Carlos Correa."The last time I talked to him, he told me the fishing was good," Boras, said Wednesday, according to Bobby Nightengale of the Minnesota.

Correa’s name has generated a little buzz at the Winter Meetings as a possible fallback option for teams that missed out on Juan Soto.

The Twins weren’t involved in Juan Soto’s record-setting, 15-year contract worth a guaranteed $765 million. Taking away the first two digits is a closer representation of how much money they could add to their payroll this offseason.

Soto is off the board, and it could lead his spurned suitors to gauge whether the Twins would trade Correa. Falvey is open to listening.

But Minnesota wants to win next season, so “a high bar has been set” for their all-star shortstop, Twins president Derek Falvey said.

That, of course, has led teams to Carlos Correa. According to Dan Hayes of The Athletic, Twins POBO Derek Falvey has been taking calls on Correa, but the cost to acquire him would be understandably high.

With Juan Soto signing his contract, teams can turn their attention in another direction, which includes potentially trading for Carlos Correa. While attending the Winter Meetings, Bobby Nightengale of the Minnesota Star Tribune reported that the Minnesota Twins have received phone calls about the All-Star shortstop.
