An Alberta Clipper system is forecasted to bring snow and cold weather to the Midwest and Northeast this week as folks in states surrounding the Great Lakes continue to clean up from last weekend's snowstorm.

This edition of Weather Tidbits discusses the Alberta Clipper. An Alberta Clipper is a low pressure system that develops near Alberta in central Canada which moves rapidly east and southeast through the Great Lakes and northeast United States.

A lake-effect snowstorm that buried communities from Michigan to New York under feet of snow will start to wind down on Tuesday, but an Alberta Clipper is hot on its heels and is expected to bring snow to at least a dozen states this week.
